For this exhibition proposal, I performed extensive content research; worked with a team to develop goals, messages, and information architecture; and co-wrote the concept document. I then worked with a co-content developer, a graphic designer, and a technical designer on development and iterative refinement of interactive prototypes, based on formative evaluation for usability and understanding.

Waterworks

Visitors tinkered with technology and explored the workings of a complex technological system. Described by one visitor as “the coolest thing in the whole museum.”

Inventors’ Tools

Researchers in cognitive science and the history of technology have identified numerous mental tools and techniques that inventors, engineers, and other creative thinkers use in coming up with new ideas. We developed exhibit prototypes that let people practice using these “Inventors’ Tools”.
